Title: | Plan and section of a proposed railway from the Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway to the Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal, near Falkirk, n.d. (marked copy, coloured). Printed. |
Imprint: | n.d. ca. 1830s |
Pagination: | 1 map ; 47 x 149 cm. |
Shelfmark: | Acc.10706 No.436 |
Notes: | The Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway was incorporated in 1831, and changed its name to the Glasgow, Garnkirk and Coatbridge Railway in 1844. However, the absence of any other railways (or even intended railways) confirms that this plan must be prior to the early 1840s, by which time the Caledonian Railway itself was being planned. This map is from our Stevenson civil engineering plans collection. |
