These maps at quarter inch to the mile (1:253,440) scale show county, burgh and Parliamentary Constituency boundaries in Scotland from the late 1930s through to 1949. The topographic underlay was based on OS quarter-inch to the mile topographic mapping. The earlier series showed county and parish boundaries in red, with burghs in green. Later series distinguished large burghs (with a population of over 20,000 people) and small burghs, showing the former in yellow, with all administrative boundaries shown in red, and Parliamentary boundaries shown in green.
