Ordnance Survey National Grid maps, 1940s-1970s - Sheet Lists
This series was the most detailed Ordnance Survey maps after the Second World War.
- 1:1,250 scale maps for urban areas with more than 20,000 inhabitants, and 1:2,500 maps for other inhabited areas, including smaller settlements and cultivated rural land.
- The 1:10,560 series was derived from larger-scale 1:1,250/1:2,500 mapping in urban and more populous areas, and was most detailed 'basic' scale for many more remote rural areas.
