This military series was printed by the War Office (1942-44). The underlying topographic detail was photographically reduced from the latest available Ordnance Survey six-inch to the mile maps, including the Special Emergency Edition (1938-9) maps made for Air Raid Precaution purposes. Additions were also made from the latest 25 inch maps too. The sheets form subsets of the G.S.G.S. 3906 series at 1:25,000 (also being printed at this time), showing the War Office Cassini grid, and are enlarged at twice the scale. We do not hold full coverage, and this is all the sheets we hold of this series.
