Half-Inch to the mile graphic

This set of maps at a scale of half-inch to the mile (1:126,720) were intended as county-based indexes to larger-scale County Series maps and the National Grid. The County Series sheet lines (relating to Six-Inch and 25 inch to the mile maps of Scotland published before the Second World War) are shown in black, along with railways, major towns and coasts. The National Grid sheet lines (relating to National Grid maps published after the Second World War), are shown in green. The National Grid Eastings and Northings (in metres from the point of origin of the National Grid) are given at the extents of the National Grid graticule.

These sheet lines to County Series and National Grid maps are also viewable in our Records viewer.
