Paisley
The cross-shaped burgh of Paisley (PASLAY) on the White Cart
River, with its 12th-century abbey, dominates this extract. To the
right of the abbey can be seen the Place of Paisley, within a walled
enclosure, the residence of the Commendator. Around it are numerous
small settlements extending as far east as Cardonald (Kardonald),
now a suburb of Glasgow.
