Elgin

Elgin, on the banks of the Lossie, and with (left to right) its castle on Lady Hill, St Giles' Church, and 13th-century cathedral, appears in the bottom left-hand corner of this detail. Between it and the coastline of the Moray Firth lie Loch Spynie (Loch of Spyny) and the 14th-century Spynie Palace (Cast: of Spyny), with its 6- storey keep, residence of the Bishops of Moray.
