Dundee

One of Pont's most intricate depictions of a burgh, the cross-shaped plan of Dundee can be clearly seen, bordering the Firth of Tay. In the centre left is the impressive medieval church of St Mary's, and its commanding tower, The Steeple, which still survives today following rebuilding in the 18-19th centuries. Dudhope (Dudyp) Castle, home of the Scrymgeour family, Constables of Dundee, is shown to the north west, nestling beneath Dundee Law (Duntay Law).
