E. Patricia Dennison is the Director of the Centre for Scottish Urban History at the Scottish History Department, Edinburgh University. She has written and co-authored many books on Scottish towns, and is also currently historian to the archaeological work being undertaken at the new Scottish parliament site in Edinburgh's Canongate. She is the author of a chapter on Pont's portrayal of towns in Scotland Survey'd, where further information on towns may be found.
